20 Hot Products Released in March

At the end of every month, Convenience Store Products offers a rundown of the hottest snacks, candies, beverages and general merchandise that hit retailers over the past four weeks. This batch includes items ranging from sugary baked goods and crunchy chips to alcohol beverages and c-store equipment.

Here’s what hit the market in March …

1. Stubb's Beef Steak Bites

Red Truck Beef Jerky has launched Stubb's Beef Steak Bites, which are available in 3-ounce bags for a suggested retail price of $6.99. The high-protein snack is made with premium steak and is covered in Stubb’s Original Bar-B-Q seasoning.

2. Baker Boy Magic Donuts

Baker Boy Inc. has expanded its Magic Ring Donuts lineup with two new filling flavors: Strawberry Cream Cheese and Blueberry Jelly. The baked goods manufacturer fills the prefried, yeast-raised doughnuts with an exclusive pin injection system. The products are available in 60-count cases, and retailers can purchase the doughnuts through convenience-store distributors. Magic Ring Donuts come frozen and ready to decorate.

3. Pallet Load Ice Merchandiser

Leer Inc.’s new Pallet Load Ice Merchandiser, the PL150, is a single pallet, front-loading machine that allows operators to load multiple pallets right into the merchandiser. The all-steel equipment uses water-tight lock-form seams to improve durability. A standard pallet jack can remove the merchandiser’s floor so operators can swap out low pallets for full ones. The merchandiser offers 150 cubic feet of storage space, and the machine’s French doors are equipped with oversized glass windows to provide greater visibility.

4. Sprite Lymonade

Coca-Cola Co. has launched its newest flavor based on usage of the company's high-tech Freestyle fountain machines. The beverage, Sprite Lymonade, “adds a subtle splash of lemonade” to the citrusy carbonated soft drink. Sprite Lymonade is made with 1% juice, making it the brand’s first foray outside traditional sparkling soft drinks.

5. Big League Chew Double-Size Pouch

Big League Chew has launched its newest product, the Double-Size Pouch. This packaging has the same amount of gum as traditional bags of Big League Chew, but also features a resealable stand-up pouch design. The 4.24-ounce Double-Size Pouch is available in two flavors: Outta Here Original and Big Rally Blue Raspberry, both of which are available for $2.99.

6. Tastykake Cookies & Creme Mini Donuts

Tastykake has partnered with Bassetts Ice Cream Co. to launch Cookies & Creme Mini Donuts, which are available in a six-count pack and a 9.5-ounce bag for $1.79 and $2.99, respectively. This marks the first offering from Tastykake Scoop Shop, an ice cream-inspired line of sweet snacks from the company.

7. Vitaminwater Fire and Ice

Besides Sprite Lymonade, Coca-Cola has also added two new flavors to its vitaminwater lineup: vitaminwater fire and vitaminwater ice. Vitaminwater fire has a spicy watermelon lime flavor featuring a hint of jalapeno and habanero flavors, while vitaminwater ice combines blueberry and lavender flavors. Both drinks are available in 20-ounce bottles and have 20 calories per bottle.

8. Kind Nut Butter Filled Snack Bars

Kind Healthy Snacks has launched its new line of Kind Nut Butter Filled Snack Bars, which are now available at retailers nationwide. The bars come in Chocolate Peanut Butter and Honey Almond Butter flavors for a suggested retail price of $17.85 for a box of 16 bars.

The gluten-free bars are infused with a creamy nut-butter center and contain 100% whole grains on the outside. Each bar is topped with crushed nuts—including peanuts and almonds—and a chocolatey drizzle.

9. G Fuel Energy Formula

Energy-drink maker G Fuel will target gamers with the launch this summer of its G Fuel Energy Formula in 16-ounce cans. Launching in four flavors—Fazeberry, Blue Ice, Sour Cherry and Rainbow Sherbet—G Fuel's energy drink features a proprietary combination of whole-food caffeine from unroasted coffee beans and the amino acid L-tyrosine, a pairing that provides energy and focus, according to the company. It also contains antioxidants and vitamins, with zero sugar and calories.

10. Frito-Lay Flavor Shots

Frito-Lay has debuted its newest product, Flavor Shots—bite-sized, poppable snacks—at retailers nationwide. The product come in four flavors: Cheetos Flamin’ Hot Asteroids, Doritos Fiery Habanero Triangles, Doritos Nacho Cheese Nuts and Doritos Flamin’ Hot Nacho Cheese Nuts, all of which are available for a suggested retail price of $1.19 per pouch. Each portable pouch ranges from 1.25 ounces to 1.75 ounces.

11. Utz Original and Ripple Potato Chip packages

Utz Quality Foods has released new packages for its Original and Ripple Potato Chips. The fresh packaging is part of a collaboration with Major League Baseball and showcases every team on the bags. The 7.75-ounce and 9.5-ounce bags are available at retailers nationwide.

12. Tauri-Gum

Tauriga Sciences Inc. has debuted Tauri-Gum, a chewing gum infused with cannabidiol (CBD), in select Mobil- and Shell-branded convenience stores and Convenient Food Marts in New York. The company expects Tauri-Gum to arrive in about 400 to 500 c-stores in New York by April 30, the company told Convenience Store Products.

Tauri-Gum is available for a suggested retail price of $6 per pack—each of which contains eight circular-shaped gum tablets—in Mint, Blood Orange and Pomegranate flavors. Tauri-Gum is allergen- and gluten-free, non-GMO and vegan.

13. M&M's Hazelnut Spread Chocolate Candies

Mars Wrigley Confectionery has revealed that its M&M’s Hazelnut Spread Chocolate Candies—the product Mars introduced at last year’s NACS Show—will arrive on shelves in April.

M&M'S Hazelnut Spread Chocolate Candies have a hazelnut spread center that is coated in milk chocolate. It will be available in 1.35-ounce, 2.53-ounce and 8.3-ounce bags. This marks the second soft-center M&M’s product after M&M’s Caramel, which launched in 2017.

14. One Bar Peanut Butter Cup


One Brands has debuted the newest flavor of its flagship protein bar, Peanut Butter Cup, which contains 20 grams of protein and 1 gram of sugar per bar. The bar is available online and is set to distribute to retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price ranging between $2.49 and $2.79.

15. Angie’s Boomchickapop

Angie's Boomchickapop has added two new products to its portfolio: Sea Salt Air-Popped Popcorn and White Cheddar Puffs. The Sea Salt Air-Popped Popcorn is made with three ingredients: premium white popcorn, 100% avocado oil and French sea salt. It contains 35 calories per popped cup and is available for a suggested retail price of $3.49 for a 4.2-ounce bag.

The White Cheddar Puffs are a crunchy corn snack baked with real cheddar cheese. They come in 6-ounce individual bags for $3.49 and six-pack, 1-ounce bags for $5.49.

16. Brach’s and SweeTarts

Ferrara Candy Co. has debuted four new candy products for Easter: Brach’s Purple Rain Tiny Jelly Bird Eggs, Brach’s Stuffed Eggs, SweeTarts Sour Jelly Beans and SweeTarts Ropes Bunny Box.

Brach’s Purple Rain Tiny Jelly Bird Eggs are an assortment of jelly beans, coming in berry, blueberry, blue raspberry and grape flavors. Brach’s Stuffed Egg is a candy-filled egg adorned with bunny ears and filled with a variety of candies. SweeTart Sour Jelly Beans mimic the classic candy with a sour punch, and the SweeTart Ropes Bunny Box features a centerpiece full of the brand’s soft chewy ropes.

17. Monaco


Atomic Brands has debuted two new flavors of its premium spirit cocktail beverages, Monaco Moscow Mule and Monaco Kentucky Mule. These alcohol beverages contain real distilled spirits instead of malt or flavored beer and are packaged in environmentally friendly, 12-ounce aluminum cans. They are available in 7-Eleven stores across 34 states, including California, Illinois, Florida and Massachusetts, and will arrive nationwide within the next 18 months.

18. Sour Big Chewy Nerds

Besides the new Brach and SweeTart candies, Ferrara will debut Sour Big Chewy Nerds at retailers nationwide next month. The candy features a sour chewy center covered in a sweet, crunchy Nerds candy shell and will be available in three sizes: a 4.25-ounce concession box, 6-ounce medium peg bag and 10-ounce standup bag for $1.09, $1.99 and $2.99, respectively. A bag of these Nerds candies contains a variety of sour flavors, such as Brainiac Blue Raspberry, Streaming Strawberry Lemonade, Wiki Watermelon and Blood Orange Byte.

19. CandyRific M&M’s novelties

CandyRific has partnered with M&M’s to introduce an expanded line of candy novelties. The products include the M&M’s Tube Fan, M&M’s Bladeless Fan, M&M’s Character Case, M&M’s Compact Case, M&M’s Rectangle Zipper Tin and M&M’s Flashlight. The products arrive in a box of six, 12-count displays, except for the M&M’s Character Case and Compact Case, which come in a box of four, eight-count displays per case. All the products are available for a suggested retail price between $2.99 and $5.99.

20. Mylanta


Convenience Valet has partnered with Infirst Health Care to launch Mylanta, a liquid antacid, in convenience stores. Mylanta is a heartburn and indigestion remedy that was taken off the market in 2010 but rereleased in 2016. Convenience Valet will carry the fast-acting liquid in a four-count box of single dose pouches. Convenience Valet will also offer Mylanta Gas Minis, a chewable tablet that offers gas relief.
