CSP’s Best New Product Contest Winners display their winning store innovations with pride
The NACS Show, as a rule, is full of new products. There is incredible convenience-store innovation around every corner, down every aisle.
Among all the innovations are CSP’s own 2015 Retailer Choice Best New Products Contest winners. After months of nominating and voting, the results are in and on display at supplier booths on the show floor.
This is how it works: Nominations of several hundred new products introduced into the convenience-retailing format between Aug. 1, 2014, and July 31, 2015, flooded this year’s contest. They were then whittled down to three finalists in 29 key categories. Nearly 1,500 c-store retailers then elected the winning products for each of these categories.
What follows is a preview of a few winners from the trade show floor. A comprehensive listing will be published in CSP magazine in December. For now, here’s your sneak peek…

Three Blazin’ Hot Sandwiches from Jimmy Dean include Jimmy Dean Hot & Spicy Sausage on a Biscuit; Jimmy Dean Hot and Spicy Sausage, Egg and Pepperjack Cheese on a Biscuit; and Jimmy Dean Spicy Split Smoked Sausage and Cheese on a Croissant. The line extension provides operators with a full range of sandwich options for all day-parts. Individually wrapped varieties in butcher-wrap paper ensure safe food handling.
Launched in February 2015, the Lil' Drug Store Products Brand Value program encompasses 19 SKUs in the HBC category and is geared to provide retailers with the tools to best provide value and selection to shoppers—all based on extensive c-store shopper research. It provides full HBC planogram review and gap analysis plus relevant sales tools, including marketing materials, promotions, price lists and images.
Jack Link’s Small Batch Hickory Bacon No. 9 is made with thick-cut and slowly smoked bacon and available for an SRP of $4.99. Each item in the Small Batch assortment—Hickory Bacon No. 9, Original No. 11, Peppered No. 15 and Teriyaki No. 17—comes in a convenient, easy-to-open 2.5-ounce package.
Tradewinds Jimmy Buffett’s Island Tea is available in five flavors: Pineapple Coconut White Tea, Peach Mango Black Tea, Tropical Citrus Green Tea, Paradise Punch Hibiscus Tea and Strawberry Lime Black Tea. Inspired by singer, songwriter and author, Jimmy Buffett, Tradewinds partnered with Margaritaville Enterprises to create Island Tea blending tropical fruit flavor and iced tea.
Offering on-trend dip flavors and combining chips with one of three dips, Pringles with Dip are an on-the-go, single-serve snack that combines original Pringles chips with Creamy Ranch, Jalapeno Cheddar or Honey Dijon dip. The new product ships in 12-count cases.
