6 New Alcohol Drinks for the Cold Vault

The shelter-at-home and shutdown orders driven by the coronavirus pandemic have been a boon to off-premise alcohol sales as restaurants and bar closed their doors.

Coupled with compelling innovation across beer, wine and hard seltzer segments, convenience stores have seen nice growth in alcohol sales.

Anheuser-Busch InBev’s Belgian import beer Stella Artois debuted Petite Artois, its first-ever 7-ounce mini, embossed bottle that offers a refreshing way to savor life, the company said. “Petite Artois is the perfect, stylish upgrade to elevate any picnic blanket feast, weekday meal or virtual happy hour this season,” said Lara Krug, vice president of marketing for Stella Artois.

Social Club Seltzer

A-B also introduced new hard seltzer brand Social Club Seltzer. With 150 calories, 7% ABV per 12-ounce can, launched in three popular cocktail-inspired flavors: Old Fashioned, Sidecar and Citrus Gimlet. Social Club Seltzer is sold in a variety-flavor 12-pack and individual flavor six-packs.

Del Mar Wine Seltzer

Del Mar Wine Seltzer

Del Mar Wine Seltzer entered the $1-billion hard seltzer category with a wine-based offering made in Napa Valley and formulated with premium California grapes. With 4% ABV, Del Mar Wine Seltzer is available in Black Cherry, Grapefruit, White Peach and Watermelon flavors. Packaged in 355ml cans, the SRP for a four-pack is $8.99.

RumChata Limon

RumChata Limon from Agave Loco LLC combines Caribbean rum flavor with lemon, real dairy cream and vanilla to provide a sweet cream liqueur. Packaged in a bright yellow version of the familiar RumChata bottle—complete with a gold cap—RumChata Limon is positioned as a light summer cocktail that can be enjoyed by simply pouring over ice. RumChata Limon is available for an SRP of $19.99 per 750ml bottle.

Dos Equis

Dos Equis, imported from Mexico by Heineken USA Inc., rolled out limited-edition U.S. summer cans that feature a national version and a Texas-specific edition. Now through mid-August, the promotion offers comprehensive marketing tools to encourage shoppers to snap a picture of Dos Equis summer cans and upload them to dosequis.com/Summer of Dos.

Joia Spirit

Joia Spirit cocktail cans

Joia Spirit Craft Cocktails now come in three low-sugar varieties: Sparkling Margarita, a tangy tequila with triple sec and lime; Sparkling Vodka Soda, a vodka with a squeeze of fresh key lime; and Sparkling Gimlet, a gin with aromatic botanicals of hibiscus and ginger. The ready-to-drink premium cocktails have an ABV of 6%, zero to 6 grams of sugar and 120 to 140 calories. A four-pack of 12-ounce slim cans is available for an SRP of $12.99.
