6 Freshly Launched Bakery Snacks

Sweet-snack and bakery product rollouts tend to rise like dough as year-end holidays near. Going into this year’s holiday season, cookies are a sweet-snack leader, having finished 2020 strong with 7% growth, according to Sally Lyons Wyatt, executive vice president and practice leader, client insights, for Chicago-based IRI.

This growth came “despite perimeter cookie offerings taking a hit as in-store bakeries remained closed or had limited service.”

According to IRI data for the 52-week period ending Aug. 8, total c-store dollar sales of cookies grew 2.8%, with units off 4.7%. The total c-store cookie market was a $843.2 million business. Top five suppliers included Mondelez, Frito-Lay, McKee Foods, Lenny & Larry’s and Grandmas, with private label brands in the mix as well.

Here’s a look at several cookie launches and other packaged sweet snacks hitting store shelves.
