4 Surprising Seasonal and Novelty Treats

Holidays are an opportunity for consumers to treat themselves and the ones they love, with 93% of Americans agreeing that it’s OK to enjoy seasonal goodies, according to the National Confectioners Association. It’s also a chance for c-stores to grab additional sales and traffic. In the past five years, seasonal sales in c-stores have delivered a positive 6.7% compound annual growth rate, according to IRI data provided by The Hershey Co. For boosting seasonal sales even more, the Hershey, Pa.-based confectioner offers these three tips: Optimize your assortment, focusing on top pack types and top items within each pack type; execute early, creating seasonal sets as early as possible to capture the greatest sales; and create excitement, leveraging signage around the store to create buzz.
