7 Confectionery Introductions for the Holidays

Nearly 93% of consumers say they share or gift chocolate and candy during the winter holidays, according to Washington, D.C.-based National Confectioners Association (NCA).

An NCA shopper survey shows people also like to place candy in Christmas stockings or gifts, bake with candy or chocolate, offer a candy bowl at work or home, decorate a tree or packages with candy canes, and craft with holiday candy or chocolate.

Retailers have an opportunity to respond to these tendencies in the way they approach strategies around price, promotion, display and portion-pack availability.
