October 2019 New Product Roundup

Every month, Convenience Store Products lists new products that have recently been released in c-stores. New items for this roundup include grilled cheese and tomato soup chips, hard cold-brew coffee, a dairy protein drink and more.

Here’s what’s new in October …

1. Tastykake’s Pound Kake Juniors and Pound Kake Lemon Juniors

Tastykake is adding Pound Kake Juniors and Pound Kake Lemon Juniors to its snack lineup. The juniors are available in single-serve packaging nationwide for $1.89.

A new single-serve option is also available for Pecan Swirls. The two-count packages are available for $1.89.

2. Del Monte Foods Fruit Crunch Parfaits

Del Monte Foods Fruit Crunch Parfaits are dairy-free parfaits packed with fruit, coconut creme and granola. The product comes in mango, strawberry, blueberry and pineapple coconut flavors.

The snack can be used for breakfasts on the go, the company said.

3. WeHo Bev Co.’s CBD-infused Chaser

Beverage startup WeHo Bev Co. has launched its first brand, Chaser. The Sweet Tangy Lime Chaser and Cocktail Mixer and the CBD Drip Bottle were created for consumers to chase their shots with or to use as mixers, according to the company.

The zero-calorie, sugar-free cocktail mixer and chaser is infused with electrolytes and hemp CBD, the company said.

4. Just the Cheese

Just the Cheese uses 100% Wisconsin cheese in its bars and mini bites. The snacks are low in carbs, gluten-free, keto-friendly and don’t need to be refrigerated. They come in aged cheddar, grilled cheese, jalapeno cheese and mild cheddar. Minis come in white cheddar, Wisconsin cheddar, grilled cheese, jalapeno cheese and garlic and chive.

The products will launch soon in Illinois, Texas, New York and California, the company said.

5. Reaper Ranch Tortilla Chips

Taco Bell’s Reaper Ranch Tortilla Chips have a zesty and spicy flavor by combining cool ranch with Carolina reaper pepper heat. The chips will be sold in 3.5- and 9.25-ounce bags and will be available at regional and national retailers.

The new flavor joins Taco Bell’s tortilla chip line, which also includes classic, mild, fire and diablo flavors.

6. Snickers Pecan Bars

Mars has released a limited-edition Snickers Pecan bar. The candy was chosen after the brand asked fans to pick which nut they would like to see most in a Snickers bar.

The bar features the same caramel and milk chocolate of the classic Snickers, but with pecans inside. Fifteen-pack boxes for $30 were available at snickerspecan.com but have sold out, according to the website.  

7. Cannabiniers’ Creative Waters

Cannabiniers has introduced Creative Waters, its new brand of cannabis-infused sparking waters. They comprise three CBD-infused flavors and three flavors infused with CBD and THC. The CBD drinks have 25 milligrams of CBD and come in berry-lemon, cucumber-lime and passionfruit-tangerine-coconut flavors.

The CBD and THC drinks come in three varieties: lift, balance and relax. Each have a specific ratio of CBD to THC to produce the desired mood, according to the company. All have 25 calories per serving.

8. Smart50

Smartfood’s Smart50 popcorn bags come in White Cheddar and Sea Salt. Each flavor is 50 calories per cup or less, the company said.

Smart50 is made from whole-grain popcorn and is free of artificial flavors and preservatives. The snack comes in 5- and 6-ounce bags and sells for $3.99.

9. Lay’s Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup

Lay’s is releasing a new chip flavor for a limited time.

Lay’s Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup will hit shelves Oct. 21 nationwide. On the same day, Lay’s is launching its Gotta Have Lay’s campaign at www.GottaHaveLays.com, inviting fans to upload a photo of themselves with Lay’s new packaging design for a chance to win free Lay’s for a year.

The grilled cheese and tomato soup flavor will be available in a 7.75-ounce bag for an SRP of $3.49.

10. Barefoot Fruit Moscato

Barefoot has introduced three new kinds of Barefoot Fruit Moscato: Barefoot Apple Moscato, Barefoot Peach Moscato and Barefoot Strawberry Moscato.

The drinks are available in 750-mL bottles and feature natural fruit flavors that complement the sweet taste of the moscato, the company said. The drinks are available nationwide.

11. La Colombe Hard Cold Brew Coffee

La Colombe is launching a hard cold-brew coffee through a partnership with MillerCoors. The ready-to-drink La Colombe Hard Cold Brew Coffee has a 4.2% ABV.

The drink comes in black coffee and vanilla and is sold in a four-pack of 9-ounce cans or single-serve 9-ounce cans.

The drink is available in Boston, Denver and Tampa, Fort Myers and Treasure Coast, Fla.

12. Oikos Pro Fuel

Oikos has launched Oikos Pro Fuel, a protein-packed caffeinated dairy beverage. The drink has 25 grams of protein and 100 milligrams of caffeine per 10-ounce bottle.

The drink is gluten-free and available in four flavors: vanilla, mixed berry, peach and strawberry banana. It is available at Walmart for an SRP of $1.98 and in convenience and grocery stores nationwide for an SRP of $2.49.

13. CandyRific Disney 'Frozen 2' toys

CandyRific is expanding its line with Disney "Frozen 2" characters. The new toys and treats feature characters Elsa, Anna and Olaf, the main characters in the movie, in theaters Nov. 22.

The character fans, lights and sound wands (SRP $4.99) contain 0.53 ounces of assorted fruit-flavored candies. They ship in six 12-count displays per case. Fanimation Fans (SRP $5.99) contain 0.28 ounces of candies and ship in four 12-count displays per case.

Elsa and Anna gummy boxes ship 24 per case and contain 6 ounces of candy for an SRP of $2.99. Disney "Frozen" Snow Globes ship in six individually boxed unites per case and contain 0.53 ounces of assorted fruit-flavored candy for an SRP of $9.99.
