5 Trendy New Beverages Embracing Health and Flavor

Innovation in cold-brew coffee, iced tea, cold-pressed juice and even milk featured prominently in the new packaged-beverage products on display at Winsight's FARE Conference in Dallas in June.

Here's a look at five products available to retail and restaurants that caught our eye.

1. Java House

Java House cold brew

Java House has brought its cold-brew coffee concentrate to ready-to-drink beverages. Java House Authentic Cold Brew Coffee is available in single-serve 10-ounce bottles and in four flavors: Original, Mocha, Vanilla, and the newest Colombian Black. 

2. DanoneWave

Sir Banana

In addition to featuring its Stok Cold Brew and Oikos Yogurt Drink, DanoneWave introduced foodservice executives to a new flavored milk: Sir Bananas. Packaged in the same recyclable cartons as its Horizon Organic milk, Sir Bananas is a flavored milk made with real bananas and no high-fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors, sweeteners or colors. The drink is gluten-free and carrageenan-free.

3. PepsiCo

PepsiCo paired its recent acquisition—KeVita—with its own innovation of Naked Pressed cold-pressed juices to highlight the healthier side of its packaged-beverage lineup. Elsewhere, PepsiCo's Izze sparkling sodas drew attention, while its new Lemon Lemon sparkling lemonades were available for sampling.

4. Nestle Waters


Nestle Waters North America had its reformulated Nestea available for sampling in three flavors: Lemon, Peach and Raspberry.

5. Topo Chico

Topo Chico

Mexico's Topo Chico—as offered through Sysco's distribution system—is embracing the growth the beverage industry has seen in sparkling waters by growing its line of flavors, adding Twist of Grapefruit to the mix.
